Field-Terminating LC Connectors
A clean termination is the difference between a link that passes and one that doesn't. Here's our field method for indoor tight-buffer fiber:
- Strip the 900 µm buffer to the correct length
- Clean the exposed fiber with a wipe and inspector
- Epoxy or use a no-epoxy/no-polish (NENP) system
- Polish (if required) and verify loss with a light source / meter
Common mistake: skipping the clean step. Contamination causes most field failures. Always inspect before you plug in.
